CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC— Currituck County Sheriff Matt Beickert today announced his endorsement of Senator Bobby Hanig for Congress in North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, citing Hanig’s long-standing, proven commitment to public safety and his unwavering support for law enforcement.
Sheriff Beickert, one of the region’s most respected law enforcement leaders, praised Hanig’s record of championing the needs of officers, first responders, and the communities they serve.
“As Sheriff of Currituck County, I’ve had the privilege of working directly with Senator Bobby Hanig, and I can say without hesitation that he is one of the strongest allies law enforcement has in North Carolina,” said Sheriff Matt Beickert. “Whether it was securing funding for public safety, strengthening laws that protect victims, or pushing back against policies that make it harder for officers to do their jobs, Bobby has consistently been there — not just in words, but in action. His record includes championing funding for rural public safety needs, supporting 287(g) partnerships, and opposing soft-on-crime policies that threaten community security.
